The Visalia View

A jammin’ weekend in Visalia

No matter your favorite way to relax or celebrate, Visalia has you covered!  Check out these musical events to rock, jam, jingle or sing your way through the weekend right here in town.

Friday:  Downtown’s Garden Street Plaza is home to Summer 2010’s Blues, Brews & BBQ evenings.  We’ll be cookin’ up your favorite eats and tappin’ our toes to Shari Puorto Band and Alastair Greene from 6-10.

Saturday: You know what Saturday means, don’t you?  Well of course, it’s the farmers market!  Join us at the corner of Mooney and Caldwell for live music and all the in-season, Valley-grown fruits and veggies.  You can load up on carbs at your favorite pastry booth, hand your kids a bag of kettle corn, and choose from farm fresh asparagus, cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, onions and much more.

But Saturday’s party doesn’t stop with produce: the Downtown Marriott is hosting Dueling Pianos.  This special event costs only $15 and the doors swing open at 8.

Sunday: Rock all night at the Cellar Door to We Are Scientists.  That’s right: hear the Santa Barbara-based band from 9:30 ’til close for only $10!  You may even want to taste some of the Door’s speciality wines and relax in the lounge before the party begins.
